Epoxy Garage Floor Coating Completed in Kingston, NY

This floor is about 34 years old, the customer states. There were clear signs of previous disrepair and DIY attempts at patches and coatings. We had to perform some extensive grinding on the floor due to the rough trowel finishes left in the concrete. After some extensive crack repair, we did a final grind over the floor one more time and started our grout coat. This fills in all the pitting and spalling in the floor.

Once this is cured, but still within the recoat window, we apply our primer coat, which includes a moisture vapor barrier. From there we flake into that layer with our flake. In this case, we were using a hybrid flake containing mica. Once cured, we reclaim any excess and go with the topcoat of choice. We also applied a polyaspartic top coat, which is UV-stable, waterproof, and slip-resistant. The customer loved the look of their new floor and how smooth the whole process was.
